Course overview

The course is designed to develop marketable competences in a wide variety of skills within the planning, building and design professions. Leading objectives include developing the ability to apply technology to building design and in communicating practical solutions.

With a Bachelor Degree in Architectural Technology and Construction Management, you will be qualified to plan, manage and handle technical and administrative work in project design and execution within the construction industry.

On the Architectural Technology and Construction Management programme, we are determined to give students competencies in creativity and innovation because we believe that the labour market of the future will require creative and innovative “agents of change”.

Teaching takes its starting point in the principles behind “The Creative Platform” of Aalborg University but is naturally aimed at the goals and visions of the Architectural Technology and Construction Management programme. This means that students will be met with specific methodologies and tools aiming to make creativity and innovation a way of thinking and working.

We must dare to make mistakes, we must dare to seek new solutions and we must dare be in the midst of a creative process. Teaching innovation is considered a natural part of day-to-day teaching since creativity often arises from analytic and reflective understanding of problem areas. That is why you will meet new methodologies and working methods that aim to eliminate habitual thinking and promote horizontal thinking.

Through a curious and open approach to the construction industry, we challenge prevailing norms in an attempt to achieve new solutions to streamline and improve e.g. construction processes or products. In this way, innovation lessons are anchored in the professionalism that is trained in connection with project work.
