Course overview
COURSE SUMMARY
After completing the Accident and Emergency course there is a wide
variety of routes you may wish to follow. For example, promotion to
clinical grades with increased supervisory responsibility or a career
in clinical education. Alternatively, you may wish to undertake
further study such as Nurse Practitioner training, an Advanced Trauma
Life Support Course or a Master's Award within the health faculty.
During the course you will:
- Increase your skills in dealing with the assessment and initiation
of treatment of any trauma victim
- Enjoy regular class discussions and a group-based approach to
learning
- Be encouraged to evaluate your own practice as well as that of
work colleagues and other students
- Learn to critically apprise the local, national and international
health policy
- Gain experience applying professional, ethical and legal
principles in practice
