Course overview
COURSE SUMMARY
Throughout the course staff will encourage you to take responsibility
for your career development; helping you to understand your strengths,
interests and development needs in relation to what will be expected
of you in employment.
Once you qualify you will be eligible for several further study
routes in health and social care, including a first degree, master's
degree or doctoral degree. And if you are looking to start your career
upon qualifying just some of the routes our students take include
roles in acute care, rehabilitation, community, residential care and
also specialist areas of practice.
During the course you will:
- Benefit from an integrated curriculum and learn in both academic
and practice settings
- Enjoy state-of-the-art e-Learning facilities, including
e-Portfolios
- Undertake hands-on practice placements in Bedfordshire and
Buckinghamshire

CAREER MANAGEMENT SKILLS
You will be actively encouraged to participate in the development of
your career management and will take the lead on accessing the Centre
for Personal and Careers Development. You will undertake a self
assessment to identify your strengths, interests and development needs
in relation to external criteria e.g. the requirements of an
occupation and employer. You will be introduced to the concept of the
Knowledge and Skills Framework in your practice assessments.
