Finances is one of the most common reasons people bring out as a problem when talking about going to study abroad.

Too often people consider it simply unaffordable. In reality, studying abroad can sometimes be even cheaper than studying at the home university. There are many possibilities how to finance your studies starting from scholarships, student jobs and ending with study loans and savings. If you really want something then you can make it happen.

From Dream Foundation’s side we are working to provide our applicants the best programs available, also from the financial point of view. For example you can find programs which are paid for by the local governments so they are absolutely free to attend. Some offers even include financial support.

What to take into account when planning your budget?

  • tuition fee
  • cost of study materials (books, etc.)
  • cost of transportation to the institution (flight tickets, train tickets, etc.)
  • living costs (accommodation, food, transportation, etc.)

To find out more detailed information about expenses, accomodation and working, please browse the various institutions .

Student jobs

Many students finance their studies with part-time work. Usually students need to work 10-15 hours a week to cover all living costs as in some countries it is possible to earn more than €10 per hour. We advise you not to work more than absolutely necessary, as this has a direct influence on your academic results.

For detailed information concerning job opportunities we suggest to contact an international student studying at a specific institution as there are differences between locations. We have gathered some contact information here .

Savings

It might be a good idea to start saving money to invest it into your education. It will give you confidence that you can manage even if you won’t get a scholarship or finding a job takes more time than planned.

Student loans

It is possible to finance studies by taking a loan. In different countries there are different conditions and options. Consult with your local bank to find out more.
