Hochschule Bremen - University of Applied Sciences is characterised by tradition and innovation. Although its roots extend back to 1799, the range of faculties is modern and uniquely oriented toward the future.

Hochschule Bremen - University of Applied Science is a large University as its 8000 students can choose from many international degree courses. To deliver high quality and master level education the University has established seperate international graduate center (IGC).

International Graduate Center Bremen

International Graduate Center (IGC) was founded by the University of Applied Sciences Bremen as a Graduate School for Management and Leadership. This is a seperate branch focused on giving qualitative German education for international students in English. For applicants with a first University degree the International Graduate Center offers several MBA and Master degrees in the area of international and European business and management.

The IGC guarantees a postgraduate high-quality education by team oriented lectures and seminars in small groups with a maximum of 25 students. The IGC has currently some 200 students from more than 40 countries. The international network is strengthened by visiting lecturers from many of international partner universities who offer courses, lectures and contribute to the competences of the students.

Many of the lecturers come from the management of top companies in Europe and will provide you with an insight into different companies and fields of business. The IGC is part of the International Business School Alliance (IBSA) with five Partner-Universities (located in USA, UK, Spain, Russia, Malaysia) who are successfully offering an unique Dual MBA program.

The International Graduate Center is situated in the heart of Bremen. A five-minute walk brings you to the picturesque city center with its impressive Market Square and the Cathedral of St Petri which is over 900 years old. The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen has more than 1,200 years of tradition as a port and trading city and is a bustling, cosmopolitan and multicultural city - with a population of over 540,000.

Traditionally Bremen is known by a story of Town Musicians of Bremen by brothers Grimm and the monument in the city center built showing the famous four animal musicians. However, Bremen is also one of Germany’s major foreign trade and industrial centers. In the last few years, Bremen has been making a name for itself as a venue for congresses and exhibitions and also earned the distinction of being the “City of Science 2005”.

Bremen has a lot of entertainment to offer - museums, art exhibitions, theatres, festivals, concerts, opera and ballet. A wide variety of cafés, bars, pubs, restaurants, clubs and discos make Bremen as an active and attractive part of students' lives.

Scholarships
There is a possibility to apply for DAAD scholarships if you wish to study in Germany. DAAD or German Academic Exchange Service, a federally funded organization that gives study-abroad grants to some 50,000 German and foreign students, (post)graduates, and researchers each year, making it one of the largest grantors of academic mobility worldwide.

To qualify for the highly competitive scholarships, applicants must primarily demonstrate above-average academic ability in their field of study and particular public service or social commitment; an applicant’s personal or socio-economic circumstances play only a secondary role.

The international student assistance (ISA) takes care of finding accommodation, gives support with visa applications, clarifies insurance queries and helps the students in their dealings with the authorities both at home and abroad. This service is available to students free of charge. Furthermore the ISA allocates tutors to the students and regularly organizes excursions and events during their period of study in Bremen.

The course is normally planned for five days a week in a very intensive learning module. Thus, working during a full-time Master is rarely possible, but if you manage to get a student job you might earn up to 400 € a month. German language is usually required to find a job.
