Course overview

With a degree in IT Technology you will make up an important element in our modern electronic society where most people depend on computers and electronics.

This gives some indication of how much coveted the knowledge and expertise of the IT Technology graduate is to the organisation. For the information technology and the computer industries time flies. New products are developed and improved continuously. The IT Technology graduate keeps track of the development in the field of IT and Electronics and is familiar with the latest technology. Besides enthusiasm for working with computers and electronics, he has a thorough insight into subjects such as finance, environment, management and quality.

The skilful IT Technology graduate has a natural interest and curiosity within his/her field – partly in order to keep up with the trade and partly to be capable of actively participating in the development of new products.

The IT Technology programme takes two years to complete and is divided into four semesters.

You can choose to specialise within either electronics or IT. The first semester is a joint course for both specialities. In the following three semesters specialisation is gradually increased. The specially studied subjects make up approximately half of the entire education. The fourth semester is completed with a final exam project within the chosen field of speciality.

Career opportunities

The IT and Electronics engineer works with analysing, constructing and making systems within electronics and communication technique. The engineer will be able to combine and integrate his or her knowledge in fields within technical, organizational, economical, and environmental areas together with methodical considerations in connection with planning and implementation of complicated electronic systems.

The IT and Electronics engineer’s commission is at all times to acquire new knowledge within the area, being able to employ up-to-date technologies and methods.

You may as an IT and Electronics engineer be employed in areas like development, production and service/support. You may work both nationally and internationally as well as being a part of managerial and collaborative coherences with people of various educational, linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

It might be possible to establish your own company, very often working as a consultant or likewise.

IT and Electronics’ engineers are often holding titles as IT planner, network responsible/supporter, data consultant and electronics creator.
