The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
If the original documents are not in one of the Nordic languages, English, French or German an official translation into English must be made.
It is required that you send verified copies of the entry qualification documents directly to the university by postal mail. Important! Never send original documents by post!
Language requirements
English Accepted proof of proficiency: Cambridge English, IELTS or TOEFL
IELTS: Score 6.5. No module under 5.5. TOEFL (Paper-Based): Score 575+. The written test must be at lest 4.5 (scale 1-6). TOEFL (Internet-Based): Score 90+. The written test must be at least 20 (scale 0-30). CAE or CPE - passed.

This programme develops your skills in critically examining and evaluating research in relation to international migration.
This programme focuses on: - current international developments and research perspectives in migration and ethnic relations; - the effects of globalization and human mobility on societies, groups and individuals; - the social and political adaptation and integration of ethnic minorities in different societies; - issues of inclusion and exclusion of immigrants; - majority-minority relations; - philosophical and ethical perspectives on life in diverse and complex societies.
The programme is taught by experienced lecturers and researchers, representing disciplines such as Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Economy, Ethnology and Religious Studies. You develop core competencies, including independent analysis, critical assessment, information processing and policy-relevant application. You will also gain a theoretical foundation for understanding local realities.
This programme provides advanced level specialisation in the field of International Migration and Ethnic Relations and in the last semester you will write a 15 hp Master’s thesis.
Career opportunities
Potential working fields include international organizations, academia, national and local government, NGOs or the media. Students are also eligible for PhD studies.
