Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Degree of Engineering in Computer Science, or a degree in a related field. All degrees must be equivalent to at least 180 higher education credits.

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English.

Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

If the original documents are not in one of the Nordic languages, English, French or German an official translation into English must be made.

It is required that you send verified copies of the entry qualification documents directly to the university by postal mail. Important! Never send original documents by post!

Accepted proof of proficiency: Cambridge English, IELTS or TOEFL

IELTS: Score 6.5. No module under 5.5.
TOEFL (Paper-Based): Score 575+. The written test must be at lest 4.5 (scale 1-6).
TOEFL (Internet-Based): Score 90+. The written test must be at least 20 (scale 0-30).
CAE or CPE - passed.

Course overview

The program aims to deepen your knowledge in an area of current interest within computer science, as well as to develop your scientific skills.

The program focuses on the realization of innovative IT services and systems. You will learn about technologies and concepts relevant for developing modern information systems, which are typically complex and include cooperative components. Examples of such technologies and concepts include, software agents, service-oriented computing, middleware, interoperability, ontologies, agreement technology, and virtual enterprises. You will also learn how these technologies can be applied to support activities involving people and organisations, e.g., in the area of business systems as well as other types information systems critical for the society.

Career opportunities

There are many opportunities for M.Sc. graduates in computer science. For instance, you will be well suited to work with development of complex distributed systems, such as, systems for e-Business, e-Government, e-Health, Supply chain management, Ubiquitous computing, Web 2.0 and telecommunication. Moreover, you will be prepared to work as a consultant and as an IT strategist. There are also suitable roles in the academy, both as a teacher and within research.
